why it's important to challenge stereotypes placed upon your generation.

i think sterotypes are stupid. They're just a label for people used by people that are shallow enough to label people like a animals with scientific names. emo is just one example of a label.

emo- someone who wears dark clothing, colored hair, punkish skull accessories, cuts themselves, writes sad poetry. ect..

just because someone might choose to wear emo looking clothing doesn't mean that they would cut themselves too. this person could dress this way because they want to stand out or be themselves not because they'd want to fit in with the other emo kids @ their school.

i guess my whole point of saying that sterotypes are stupid is that one word can not define this person as a whole inside and out.

as far as i am concerned emo isn't a type of person at all. it is a type of music and how the whole fad of calling a person a type of music started is beyond me.
emo is derived from emotional and emo music is just that. the emotions portrayed in this style of music are usually heartbreak depression and general all around sadness. the lead singers of these bands are usually boys who sing about being betrayed by their ex lover in some sort of fashion.
stereotyping is just a way for people to throw you into a category so they can think they understand what you are all about
